This day tour incorporates some of the best sights the Wild Atlantic Way has to offer, starting with a visit to Ireland’s number one visitor attraction, the world famous Cliffs of Moher. Rising to over 700 feet (214 metres) and looking out over the vast Atlantic Ocean, the Cliffs of Moher is one of the most breathtaking views in nature. Feel the sea breeze on your skin as you look down at the puffins swooping along the cliff face and after a spectacular walk along the cliffs enjoy a spot of souvenir shopping in the gift shop and visitor centre.
After the Cliffs the tour will travel along the scenic Wild Atlantic Way, stopping for a pub lunch en route.
After lunch the tour stops in an area of unique beauty called the Burren. This rugged limestone landscape hosts rare and beautiful plant and wildlife. It is also the location of “Poulnabron”, an ancient burial site said to be older than the pyramids. The area was often frequented by famous author J.R.R Tolkien during his time in Ireland and is thought to have inspired the setting for ‘Middle Earth’ in his Lord of The Rings series.
After a full day of excursions your tour will arrive home in time for dinner.
Tour duration: 8 hours. Entry fees not included.
